Conference on Collaborative Efforts in the Turkmen-Roman Bilateral Relationship Regarding the Oil and Gas Sector
On October 11, 2023, the Romanian Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti was visited by the Rector of the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygelidi Kakaev, B. Atamanov, and the staff of the Embassy. During the meeting with the Rector of the Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti, Alin Dinitsa, both sides exchanged greetings and expressed a desire to expand mutually beneficial contacts between our countries in the field of education.
Rector Alin Dinitsa, in his address, welcomed the Turkmen delegation and noted the Romanian side's interest in further strengthening the established cooperation in the fields of education and scientific research. In this context, he thanked the Turkmen side for choosing Romanian universities when considering sending Turkmen youth abroad for education. The Romanian side also welcomed the establishment of connections between the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygelidi Kakaev and the Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti, Romania, in the field of education through the signing of a bilateral Agreement during the visit of the Vice-Rector of the Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti to Turkmenistan on November 29, 2017, which became the legal basis for the development of inter-university scientific and educational cooperation.
In their presentation, the Turkmen side informed about the University's activities and talked about Turkmenistan's foreign policy, which is based on the principle of neutrality, as well as the history, role, and significance of Turkmenistan's neutral status in ensuring peace and stability at regional and international levels.
In turn, the representatives of the Romanian side provided information about the activities of the Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti and the areas of special attention in the educational process. They noted that the number of foreign students at the Oil and Gas University in Ploiesti from the countries of the former CIS, including Turkmenistan, has been increasing every year. Along with their studies, students from Turkmenistan participate in the cultural and sporting life of the university. B. Atamanov expressed gratitude to the administration of the university and the teachers for their care and attention to Turkmen students.
Additionally, the parties agreed to explore opportunities to intensify bilateral contacts, including through the organization of joint events, conferences, and online lectures on topics of interest.
At the end of the meeting, the parties exchanged invitations for mutual visits.
