Presentation of the collection of poems by Magtymguly Fragi translated into Romanian

On January 8, 2026, the presentation ceremony of the collection of poems by the Eastern thinker and classical poet Magtymguly Fragi, translated into the Romanian language was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The event was attended by the leadership and staff members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, chiefs of diplomatic missions and representative offices of international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, heads of diplomatic missions and consular offices of Turkmenistan abroad, as well as faculty members, students of the Institute and representatives of mass media.

During the presentation, speeches were made by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Myahri Byashimova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Romania to Turkmenistan Ion Naval, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev, Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan Gulshat Yusupova, the research fellow at the Institute of Language, Literature and National Manuscripts named after Magtymguly of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan Nargul Atasheva, lecturer at the Turkmen State University named after Magtymguly Lyale Ashirova, and the Vice-Rector of the Institute of International Relations of the MFA of Turkmenistan Begench Matliyev.

During the event, the speakers noted that the work of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi continues to attract great interest and popularity worldwide regardless of the centuries passed. The works by the poet that call to patriotism, peace, humanism, goodwill, friendly and fraternal relations, mutual trust, as well as respect published in various languages ​​clearly demonstrates their great significance today.

As an important component of interstate relations, the cultural and humanitarian sphere provides a strong foundation for expanding fruitful cooperation. In this context, the significance of translating Magtymguly Fragi’s poems into Romanian was emphasized as an important element in developing friendly relations between the two nations, as well as providing the Romanian people with a great opportunity to become deeply acquainted with the work of the great poet.

The participants of the presentation expressed confidence that this event will provide a powerful impetus to strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between Turkmenistan and Romania, and noted its important role in promoting the cultural heritage, ancient values, and national art.
