Meeting of the President of Turkmenistan and Republic of Armenia took place
On 11 October 2024, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with the President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a working visit.
The President of Turkmenistan thanked his Armenian counterpart for accepting the invitation to participate in the international forum “Interrelation of Times and Civilizations - Basis of Peace and Development” organized in honor of the anniversary of poet and thinker Magtymguly Fragi.
Noting the high organizational level of the international forum, the President of Armenia emphasized the significance of this important event from the viewpoint of strengthening cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries.
Among the priority areas of bilateral cooperation trade-economic, transport and communication spheres, agriculture and tourism were noted. It was highlighted at the meeting that the Intergovernmental Commission plays a great role in the intensification of interstate ties, as it contributes to the practical implementation of the agreements reached.
During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the priority areas of the dynamically developing Turkmen-Armenian partnership. It was noted that the countries successfully cooperate in bilateral and multilateral formats and support each other within the framework of reputable international organizations.
During the meeting, President Vahagn Khachaturyan presented to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov a collection of poems of Magtymguly Fragi translated into Armenian.
In the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President of the Republic of Armenia Vahagn Khachaturyan addressed their best wishes to each other and expressed confidence that the interstate cooperation based on the principles of good-neighbourliness, friendship and brotherhood will continue to develop successfully for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
