Meeting of the Expert Working Group of the International transport corridor "Caspian Sea - Black Sea"

On November 18, 2022, at the initiative of the Turkmen side, was held a meeting of the Expert Working Group to discuss the draft Intergovernmental Agreement on the project of the international transport corridor "Caspian Sea - Black Sea" in the format of a videoconference with the participation of representatives of Azerbaijan, Georgia, the embassies of Romania and Turkmenistan, as well as involved employees of the Ministries and departments. The Turkmen side was represented at the meeting by the Deputy General Director of the Agency for Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Annaev Batyr; The Romanian side was represented by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure Adrian George Fogish - coordinator for the international transit and transport route and Chairman of the Turkmen-Romanian working group on cooperation in the field of transport.

Speaking with a welcoming speech, the speakers noted the great economic potential that the participating countries have, as well as the role of transport cooperation among the priority areas on the agenda of multilateral relations.

During the meetings, the participants discussed the role and importance of the international transport corridor "Caspian Sea - Black Sea" for the development of the intercontinental partnership. A review of the existing transport infrastructures of the participating countries and the possibilities for their expansion was held. The participants of the meeting also considered issues of national legislation in the transport sector of the four countries, as well as the possibility of developing and implementing at the national level regulatory legal acts that contribute to the creation of the international transport corridor "Caspian Sea - Black Sea".
