At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held a meeting with Mrs. Elena Panova, appointed to the post of UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative and UNFPA Representative in Turkmenistan.

On 9 January, 2017 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was held a meeting with Mrs. Elena Panova, appointed to the post of UN Resident Coordinator, UNDP Resident Representative and UNFPA Representative in Turkmenistan.

Congratulating Mrs. Panova with the beginning of work in Turkmenistan, the Turkmen side noted that one of the main directions of foreign policy of Neutral Turkmenistan is the expansion of cooperation with international organizations. In this regard, the sides emphasized the role of the country's strategic partnership with the United Nations, after which they exchanged views on further cooperation in the areas of security, development and humanitarian dimension.

During the meeting, UN Resident Coordinator in Turkmenistan Ms. Panova presented copies of his credentials. As well as, Mrs. Panova noted that as the authorized representative of the UN in Turkmenistan will make effort to strengthen relations between Turkmenistan and the United Nations.
