A CREATIVE EVENING DEDICATED TO THE GREAT TURKMEN POET MAGTYMGULY FRAGI.

On February 17, 2023, the Embassy organized a creative evening dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Turkmen poet Magtymguly Fragi. Representatives of the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania and Turkmen students studying at the universities of Bucharest gathered at the "round table".

In the speeches was noted that at the November 5, 2022 in the city of Bursa, the Republic of Turkey, at the 39th meeting of the Permanent Council of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), its participants, on the proposal of the Turkmen side, unanimously supported the proposal in honor of the 300th anniversary of Magtymguly Fragi to declare 2024 the Year of the great poet and thinker of the Turkic world - Magtymguly Fragi, and the ancient Turkmen city of Anau - the cultural capital of the Turkic world for 2024.

Preparations for the 300th anniversary of the Turkmen poet-philosopher Magtymguly Fragi are being held both within the country and abroad, aimed at preserving, studying and popularizing the richest cultural heritage of the Turkic-speaking peoples in the world, which is an integral part of the universal cultural treasure.

Today, the work of Magtymguly Fragi penetrates the spiritual world of people and reflects universal life issues. It is for this reason that his beautiful poems, which sound like a song on the lips and are absorbed by memory as wisdom, have been translated and are being translated into dozens of languages of the world, including Romanian.

The participants of the celebration spoke about the role of Magtymguly Fragi's work in Turkmen and world literature, about the study of the philosophical heritage of the poet, about new discoveries in the studies of his life and work. Students recited the poems of the great classic of Turkmen literature.

It was also noted that the polished, deep thoughts in these wonderful verses, directed to the future, meet the spiritual needs of not only the Turkmen people, but of all mankind.

The exchange of views of the participants of the event was continued over the festive Turkmen dastarkhan.
