A ROUND TABLE BETWEEN UNIVERSITIES OF ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE EMBASSY
On February 28, 2023, with the assistance of the Embassy, was held a round table in the format of a videoconference between the Engineering and Technology University named after. Oguz Khan of Turkmenistan and the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
During the meeting, the Turkmen side familiarized with the process of construction of the new city of Arkadag, which is being built under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan, successfully implemented long-term large-scale programs aimed at strengthening the state foundations, increasing the economic power of the country, improving the living standards of the population, and further prosperity of Turkmenistan.
Presentations were shown by students who participated in the implementation of a large-scale project of the new city of Arkadag, designed to become a model of an innovative city using modern technologies.
The audience was informed about the stages of construction, buildings and structures being erected in the city, park areas, as well as the lines of modern communication systems, which will ensure the smooth operation of "smart city technologies".
Professors of the Polytechnic University demonstrated their projects in the construction of a "smart" city, which introduces a set of technical solutions and organizational measures aimed at achieving the highest possible quality of resource management and service provision at present, in order to create sustainable favorable conditions for living and staying, business activity of the current and future generations.
In the presented projects, it was also noted that in order to fulfill the goals of a "smart" city and improve the quality of service for citizens, city authorities need to control what is happening in the city and interact with the infrastructure through information and communication technologies. With the help of smart sensor systems operating in real time, information is collected and accumulated in data processing centers, which is subsequently processed and analyzed by systems.
The Romanian specialists expressed their readiness for an active exchange of accumulated experience and partnership in the field of training young personnel, developing new technologies, participating in joint projects, testing experimental models for their further implementation in production.
