Days of Turkmen Films took place in Bucharest
On April 2, 2025, the opening of the Days of Turkmen Films took place in Bucharest, organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Romania in the Cinema hall of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant. Films of the Oguzkhan Turkmenfilm Association of the State Committee for Television, Radio Broadcasting and Cinematography of Turkmenistan are presented for screening, which was held as part of the celebration of the International Year of Peace and Trust and the 30th anniversary of Permanent Neutrality of Turkmenistan.
The event was attended by representatives of ministries of Romania, heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Romania, representatives of the scientific and creative intelligent, as well as citizens and students of Turkmenistan in Romania.
The event opened with the screening of the films "Daragt" ("Tree") by the Turkmen director of the Turkmenfilm studio Sahysalikh Bayramov and "Composer" by director Maksat Gylydzhov.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Romania Annamammet Annayev and the Director General of the National Museum of Romanian Peasant Virgil-Stefan Nitulescu addressed the audience with a welcoming speech.
In his address, the Ambassador thanked the Romanian side for their assistance in organizing and holding the first screening of Turkmen films in Romania. He noted that today cinema plays a huge role in modern society and emphasized that the screening of Turkmen films will be another step towards bringing the cultures of Turkmenistan and Romania closer together.
In turn, V.Nitulescu thanked the Government of Turkmenistan for the wonderful opportunity to get to know Turkmen culture and cinematography even better and expressed his readiness to deepen intercultural dialogue.
On the second day of the film screening, April 3, the films “Red Kurte” by director Sahysalykh Bayramov and “Red Apple” by director Hekim Alovov were shown, which was screened based on the lyrical legend from the book of the Hero-Arkadag, telling about the Turkmen national traditions and values, glorifying the honesty and hard work of the Turkmen people.
