TURKMENISTAN AND MONGOLIA INTEND TO STRENGTHEN MUTUALLY BENEFICIAL COOPERATION

On the 18th of April 2019, political consultations between Turkmenistan and Mongolia on the level of deputy ministers of foreign affairs were held in the premises of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.  The guest delegation was headed by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia Ms.Batmunkh Battsetseg, who has arrived to Ashgabat on a working visit.   

During the meeting, the parties expressed interest in organizing consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs on regular basis.  Here, the positive experience in regard to cooperation in the framework of international organizations was noted.

The parties underlined that good conditions exist for developing the dialogue taking into consideration three main dimensions of diplomacy – energy, transport and water, and agreed that to give strong impulse to the development of bilateral relations it is necessary to organize mutual visits on the highest level.      

There was an exchange of views concerning the perfection of the legal base and the need to exchange delegations on the inter-parliamentary level. 

In addition, the sides spoke about the necessity of developing trade-economic relations, the potential of which has not been fully used.  In this regard, the issues of launching the export and import between two countries especially in the sphere of energy resources and agricultural goods were considered.
